Privacy Policy

In short: Meowsk finds your cat's face and puts filters on it entirely on your iPhone or iPad. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking, and we don't collect any personal data. Your photos and videos stay on your device unless you choose to share them.
Who we are
Meowsk is published by Quine Studios LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States ("we"). We are responsible for the app under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws. Contact: support@meowsk.app.
The camera and your photos
- Camera. Meowsk asks for camera access to show the live picture with filters. The camera picture is processed on your device, frame by frame, and is not stored or sent anywhere. A photo or video is only kept when you take one.
- Photos you open. When you open a photo or video from your library, iOS hands Meowsk only the item you picked. Meowsk can't see the rest of your library.
- Saving. Photos and videos you take are saved to your photo library (Meowsk asks for permission to add to it, not to read it). Meowsk also keeps your last 100 photos, videos, GIFs and stickers in its own storage on your device, so you can share or delete them from the app. Deleting the app deletes them.
- Your own stickers, morphs and backgrounds, and your settings, are stored on your device only.
The cat-face detection and filters run on your device. No picture, video or face data is uploaded to us or to anyone else.
Sharing
When you tap Share, iOS shows its share sheet and you choose where the photo, video, GIF or sticker goes. From then on, the app or service you shared it with handles it under its own privacy policy.
Purchases (Meowsk Pro)
Subscriptions are sold and handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, name or Apple ID. The app checks with Apple's StoreKit, on your device, whether your Apple ID has an active Meowsk Pro subscription. Apple gives us sales reports (such as how many subscriptions were sold in which country) that don't identify you. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
What we don't do
- No account or sign-in.
- No advertising, and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No analytics or crash-reporting services of our own, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.
- We don't sell or share personal data, because we don't have any.
If you have agreed to share diagnostics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may give us anonymous, aggregated usage and crash statistics through App Store Connect. You can turn this off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
Children
Meowsk doesn't collect personal data from anyone, children included.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Since we hold no personal data about you, there is usually nothing to access or delete; everything Meowsk stores is on your device and is removed when you delete the app. You can still contact us with any question, and you have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live.
Changes
If Meowsk's handling of data changes, we will update this page and the date above before the change reaches the app.
